Job Title: Middle School and High School Band Director
Location: All Saints Episcopal School – Lubbock, Texas
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

All Saints Episcopal School in Lubbock, Texas, is seeking a passionate and experienced Band Director to lead the lower school, middle school and high school band programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education, the ability to inspire students, and a commitment to fostering a love for instrumental music. This role requires excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills to develop a comprehensive and engaging band program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and direct the middle school and high school band programs, including concert band,field band and other instrumental ensembles.
  • Plan and lead rehearsals, performances, and competitions throughout the academic year.
  • Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student growth and musical excellence.
  • Select appropriate repertoire that challenges and inspires students while meeting educational objectives.
  • Teach instrumental techniques, music theory, and ensemble performance skills.
  • Coordinate and participate in school events, concerts, pep band performances, and other extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with faculty, administration, and parents to support students and promote the music program.
  • Manage the band budget, purchase music and instruments, and maintain school-owned equipment.
  • Prepare students for auditions, contests, and honor band opportunities at the district, regional, and state levels.
  • Uphold the values and mission of All Saints Episcopal School through leadership and mentorship.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid Texas teaching certification in Music (or ability to obtain certification).
  • Experience directing middle school and/or high school band programs.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumental pedagogy, conducting, and music theory.
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of all skill levels.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and faculty.
  • Experience with TAPPS, UIL, or equivalent competitions and other band performance assessments is preferred.
  • Proficiency in managing and maintaining band equipment and inventory.
