Ralls ISD is seeking a passionate and dedicated AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Teacher. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing the AVID program to support and guide students in developing college and career readiness skills. This individual should be committed to fostering a positive learning environment that promotes academic achievement, critical thinking, and organizational skills.

Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Implement the AVID curriculum to support students in developing study skills, organization, and critical thinking.

  • Facilitate student-centered learning through inquiry-based strategies and collaborative activities.

  • Foster a classroom culture that promotes motivation, leadership, and academic perseverance.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and feedback.

  • Collaborate with AVID site coordinators, administrators, and colleagues to ensure program effectiveness.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students, encouraging college and career readiness.

  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to school policies and curriculum standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Valid Texas Teaching Certification or enrolled in an Alternative Certification course.
  • AVID training and experience (preferred).

  • Willingness to attend AVID training.
  • Strong understanding of AVID methodologies and strategies.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.

  • Commitment to student success and fostering a growth mindset.

Salary & Benefits:

  • This is a grant-funded position. 
  • Competitive salary based on experience and district pay scale.
  • $225 towards health insurance.
  • Matching 2% annuity.
