Position Overview

All Saints Episcopal School in Lubbock, Texas, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Middle and Lower School Counselor to support the academic, emotional, and social well-being of students. This role is essential in fostering a positive school environment where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to navigate the challenges of their developmental stages. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and faculty, and a commitment to promoting student success and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students' emotional, social, and academic development.
  • Assist students in developing coping strategies, conflict resolution skills, and healthy decision-making.
  • Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to address student concerns and implement effective support plans.
  • Develop and implement programs that promote mental health awareness and character education for both lower and middle school students.
  • Facilitate workshops and presentations on topics such as stress management, peer relationships, emotional regulation, and academic success.
  • Support students during key transition periods, including the move from lower to middle school and middle to upper school.
  • Identify students who may require additional resources and provide referrals to external support services when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate records in compliance with school policies and ethical guidelines.
  • Contribute to a positive school culture by promoting inclusivity, respect, and student well-being.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school-wide events.
  • Be prepared to have fun and work in a wonderful, collaborative work environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Valid Texas certification as a School Counselor (or ability to obtain certification).
  • Experience working with lower and middle school students in a counseling or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, behavioral interventions, and conflict resolution strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and faculty.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of mental health resources and best practices for student support.
  • Familiarity with school counseling technology and data-driven approaches to student success.
