Speech-Language Pathologist
EPEC SSA/Lorenzo ISD
Job Description:
Plan and provide speech-language pathology services to students with speech, voice, or language disorders. Assess students and deliver therapeutic interventions to eliminate or reduce impairments that interfere with the students' ability to benefit fully from the educational program.
Qualifications
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Education/Certification:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas license as a Speech-Language Pathologist issued by the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (SBESLPA)
OR
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid Texas Education Agency (TEA) Speech Therapy Certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Proficiency in using standardized assessments for communication disorders
- Knowledge of evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech-language disorders
- Ability to manage student behavior and provide instruction
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of supervised clinical experience in speech-language pathology
Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Valid Texas license as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
- Demonstrated competency in providing speech-language therapy services
- Must have a satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting and background check
