Position Overview
All Saints Episcopal School in Lubbock, Texas, is seeking a dedicated and engaging Middle School Science Teacher to inspire students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science education and a passion for making science accessible and exciting for young learners. The teacher will be responsible for creating a dynamic, hands-on learning environment that fosters scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and intellectual growth. This position requires strong classroom management, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents to ensure a positive learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging science curriculum for middle school students, covering topics such as life science, physical science, and earth science.
  • Plan and facilitate hands-on activities, experiments, and demonstrations that help students develop a deeper understanding of scientific concepts.
  • Create an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, inquiry, and active student participation.
  • Regularly assess and track student progress, providing timely feedback and individualized support to foster academic success.
  • Prepare students for science-related assessments and extracurricular opportunities, such as science fairs or regional competitions.
  • Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning and real-world application of science principles.
  • Collaborate with fellow faculty members, school administration, and parents to support student growth and development.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, school-wide events, and professional development opportunities to continue refining teaching skills.
  • Embody the values and mission of All Saints Episcopal School by serving as a mentor, role model, and enthusiastic advocate for lifelong learning.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, General Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid Texas teaching certification in Science (or ability to obtain certification).
  • Experience teaching secondary science, preferably in grades 5-8.
  • Strong understanding of science curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques.
  • Ability to create an engaging and organized classroom environment that motivates students to explore and excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and parents.
  • Experience with inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, and technology integration in the classroom is a plus.
  • Knowledge of state science standards and the ability to prepare students for assessments is beneficial.
