Position Overview
All Saints Episcopal School in Lubbock, Texas, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Baseball Coach and Secondary Teacher to inspire student-athletes both on the field and in the classroom. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coaching baseball and teaching at the secondary level. This position requires leadership, mentorship, and the ability to create a supportive environment where students can thrive academically and athletically. The coach will be responsible for developing players’ skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting sportsmanship, while the teaching role will involve delivering high-quality instruction in a fitting subject area.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of the baseball program, including practices, conditioning, and game strategy.
- Develop student-athletes’ technical skills, teamwork, and leadership in a competitive and supportive environment.
- Monitor student-athletes’ academic performance and well-being, ensuring a balance between athletics and academics.
- Coordinate team logistics, including scheduling, transportation, and equipment management.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, and the broader school community.
- Teach an assigned secondary-level subject, utilizing engaging lesson plans, effective instructional strategies, and assessments that support student learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support student success and uphold the school's mission.
- Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school-wide activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
- Valid Texas teaching certification in the appropriate secondary subject (or ability to obtain certification).
- Experience coaching baseball at the high school level, with a strong understanding of game strategy, skill development, and team management.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with student-athletes and foster personal growth and leadership skills.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a dynamic learning environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to promoting academic and athletic excellence in alignment with the values of All Saints Episcopal School.
