Substitute Pay Rates:
Responsibilities:- Provide instruction and support to students in various subjects, including literacy education and math.- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of students, including those with special needs requirements.- Follow lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher and maintain a positive learning environment.- Manage classroom behavior and ensure student safety at all times.- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to promote student success and development.- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behavior.
Expectations:- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in education or a related field preferred.- Experience working with children, particularly in a preschool or special education setting.- Knowledge of childhood development principles and strategies for teaching students with diverse learning needs.- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.- Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classrooms and grade levels as needed.- Valid teaching certification or substitute teaching permit.
Note: Experience or expertise in autism, tutoring, or special education is highly desirable.
