The athletic director will manage all aspects of the school's athletic programs as well as have coaching and some teaching duties. They will oversee the coaches, facilities, and equipment, and ensure that the program runs smoothly and complies with rules and regulations. 
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
 
  • Classroom Teacher/coach: Role and responsiblity of a classroom teacher/coach
  • Program coordination: Organize schedules, tournaments, and post-season games
  • Budgeting: Create budgets and allocate funds for equipment, facilities, travel, and personnel
  • Facility maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of athletic facilities
  • Equipment management: Supervise the purchase and maintenance of equipment
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and league rules and regulations
  • Eligibility: Verify the physical and academic eligibility of athletes
  • Travel: Coordinate travel arrangements for teams
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on team performance and needs
  • Conflict resolution: Mediate disputes between coaches and athletes
  • Sportsmanship: Ensure that players and coaches show good sportsmanship
  • Assign and supervise gatekeepers and workers for athletic contests
  • Schedule physical examinations for athletes
  • Secure law enforcement officers for athletic contests as needed
  • Coordinate with athletic boosters on the needs of the athletic programs
