Lower School - 2nd Grade Teacher

Summary: The second-grade teacher is responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment where students can develop academic skills and social-emotional growth. They develop and implement lesson plans, assess student progress, and communicate with parents to support student learning.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards
  Teach students various subjects, including math, reading, writing, science, and social studies
  Assess student progress through quizzes, tests, and other forms of evaluation
  Provide feedback to students and parents on student performance and progress
  Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and development
  Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate curriculum and support student needs
  Attend meetings, workshops, and training sessions to further professional development
  Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, progress, and behavior
  Communicate regularly with parents to update them on student progress and address any concerns

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  State teaching certification/license
  Previous experience teaching at the elementary level, preferably in second grade
  Strong knowledge of elementary education curriculum and instructional practices
  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children
  Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, sit, and move around for extended periods
  Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel as needed
