Job Summary:
All Saints Episcopal School is seeking a passionate and dynamic Spanish Teacher to engage young learners (ages 3 through 4th grade) in a fun, interactive, and immersive Spanish language experience. The ideal candidate will create a developmentally appropriate curriculum that fosters a love for language learning while incorporating cultural awareness and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum Development:
- Design and implement engaging Spanish lessons tailored to the developmental levels of students from preschool through 4th grade.
- Utilize songs, stories, games, and interactive activities to make language learning fun and effective.
- Foster listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills appropriate for each age group.
- Integrate cultural aspects of Spanish-speaking countries into lessons to enrich students' global awareness.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Classroom Management & Student Engagement:
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and confidence in language use.
- Use hands-on activities, visuals, and movement to support comprehension and engagement.
- Implement classroom management strategies to ensure a respectful and productive learning environment.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with classroom teachers and staff to integrate Spanish into other subject areas when appropriate.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, classroom activities, and ways to support language learning at home.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, or a related field.
- Fluency in Spanish (native or near-native proficiency).
- Experience working with early childhood and elementary-aged children.
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
- Passion for teaching young learners and making language learning engaging.
Preferred:
- Teaching certification or licensure in Spanish or Elementary Education.
- Experience in language immersion or dual-language programs.
- Familiarity with early childhood and elementary teaching methodologies.
