A Head Start Pre-K 3 Teacher in Lockney, TX is responsible for fostering the develoopment of 3-year-olds through a variety of activites and learning experiences, while also collaborating with families and other staff to support children's growth and well-being. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, creating a positive learning environment, and conducting assessments to monitor children's progress. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Design and Implementation:
    Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities aligned with Head Start standards. 
     
  • Classroom Environment:
    Establish a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom that encourages exploration and discovery. 
     
  • Assessment:
    Conduct ongoing assessments to track children's progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed. 
     
  • Family Engagement:
    Collaborate with families to support children's development, provide resources for at-home learning, and ensure communication between home and school. 
     
  • Record Keeping:
    Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior, ensuring compliance with program guidelines. 
     
  • Professional Development:
    Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current with early childhood education trends and best practices. 
     
  • Health and Wellness:
    Monitor children's health, ensuring they receive necessary screenings and promoting healthy eating habits. 
     
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with other staff members, including assistant teachers and support staff, to provide a cohesive learning environment for the children. 
     
  • Supervision:
    Supervise and monitor children at all times, responding appropriately to any emergencies or safety concerns. 
     
  • Communication:
    Maintain open and effective communication with families, providing updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.
