Job Summary:
Lorenzo ISD is seeking an organized, professional, and friendly School Secretary to serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for supporting a positive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a professional manner
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence
- Maintain school records, student files, and attendance data
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and events for school administrators
- Assist with preparation and distribution of reports, memos, and newsletters
- Coordinate student enrollment, withdrawal, and attendance documentation
- Process purchase orders, invoices, and other financial documents
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Provide general support to teachers and administrative staff
- Monitor and maintain office supplies inventory
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate’s degree preferred
- Prior experience in an office or school setting (preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and recordkeeping is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a desk
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
