Job Description:

The Math Interventionist is responsible for providing direct instruction and instructional support to students with identified deficits in Math. He/she is also responsible for participating in special program meetings, intervention meetings, and PLC’s.

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • Previously taught the Math for four years with successful gains in 3rd/4th grade
  • Science of Teaching Reading (STR) course completed and/or certification by the end of the 2022-2023 school year


  • ESL certification


  • Good motivational skills with students and teachers
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to exhibit flexibility


  • Providing explicit, systematic instruction that is sequential and multimodal (e.g., sequential lessons, gradual release model, structured scaffolding)
  • Progress monitor academic performance (formal and informal) for all assigned students and prepare progress evaluation reports to be shared with teachers and administrators monthly. Additionally, maintain anecdotal records of student participation/responses and samples of student work that demonstrate critical thinking, skill comprehension, and skill application.
  • Work with students to develop and monitor academic goals for both short- term and long-term success.
  • Participate in campus and district training.
  • Provide in- class small group support to assigned students.
  • Collaborate with teachers on intervention lesson plans
  • Develop student led work stations that are designed to offer remediation practice and introductory knowledge to students.
  • Support implementation of assessment tools and data management systems
