Guthrie Common School District is currently looking for an elementary teacher. Guthrie is approximately 45 minutes from Childress, and 1 1/2 hours from Lubbock. Guthrie is home to the infamous Four-Sixes Ranch and includes the 6666 Supply House.
Some information about our school:
- The 2024-2025 calendar includes several Fridays off, for both students and teachers.
- Total enrollment of less than 100 students (Pre-K through 12th grade).
- Low student to teacher ratio - most classes have less than 10 students.
- Each classroom includes iPads or Chromebooks for student use.
- High emphasis on student achievement. Guthrie is an “A” campus according to the latest report issued by TEA (2021-2022).

Applicants must have:
-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
-Valid teaching certificate with EC-6 certification.
(Applicants who are enrolled in an alternative certification program will also be considered.)
-Knowledge of subjects assigned and general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
-Adept at instructing students and managing their behavior.
-Ability to motivate students and inspire confidence needed for everyday skills and tasks.
-Excellent communication skills are also vital, as you will interact with students, parents, and educators daily.
-ESL certification (preferred)
