Position Overview
All Saints Episcopal School in Lubbock, Texas, is seeking a passionate and skilled Choir Director to lead and grow the choral music program across all school divisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vocal music education, a love for working with students of various ages, and a commitment to fostering musical excellence and personal growth. This role requires creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to inspire students in both performance and appreciation of choral music. The Choir Director will be responsible for planning and directing choral rehearsals and performances, while creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities

Design and implement a dynamic choral curriculum that promotes vocal technique, music literacy, and ensemble performance for students across multiple grade levels.

Direct rehearsals and prepare students for school concerts, chapel performances, and community events.

Select appropriate and diverse repertoire that challenges and inspires students.

Foster a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity, expression, and collaboration.

Provide vocal coaching and individualized support to help students develop their unique musical abilities.

Collaborate with other music faculty, school administration, and parents to support the broader music program.

Organize and manage logistics for performances, including scheduling, attire, and venue coordination.

Encourage student participation in regional or state-level music events and competitions when appropriate.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.

Participate in school-wide activities, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field.

Valid Texas teaching certification in Music (or ability to obtain certification).

Experience directing school choirs across multiple grade levels, with strong knowledge of vocal pedagogy and choral techniques.

Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

Enthusiasm for fostering a love of music in students and building a strong choir community.
